How to select the best necklace size?
Wearing Louie Lavelle necklace with a good distance from a collar allows the necklace to stand out. We recommend choosing a necklace size by adding 20%-30% to your dog's neck circumference, and 40%-60% for cats. You can visit our Buying Guide page and reference our size chart.
How to select charms?
The most fun part is shopping for charms! All of our charms are compatible with our necklaces. There are no rule or limitation. There are multiple ways to begin. Explore by Collection or visit All Charms and use the color and size filter to get some ideas. We strive to offer a wide variety of charms to accommodate different styles. Can my dog wear The Meow and can my cat wear The Woof?

How do I care for my Louie Lavelle necklace?
Our necklaces are made of tarnish-resistant material. It is not prone to darkening, color-fading or rusting and therefore requires minimal maintenance. Simply wipe it with a clean dry cloth after each use and store it in the reclosable jewelry bag that comes with it. If charms are attached, you can keep them on and store the entire piece gently in the bag.
Can my pet swim with their necklace?
Although our necklaces have a waterproof characteristic, we do not recommend wearing it during water activity or shower. Pool water, sea water, and tap water often contain minerals and chemicals that can damage the shine of our jewelry. Besides, some of our charms are not waterproof. Best practice is to keep our jewelry away from water.
Can my pet sleep with their necklace?
We recommend always supervising your pets while they have their necklace on. Although, many of our pet clients sleep with the necklace on without problem, please use your judgement as to whether there is any risk of accidental chewing, choking or swallowing. After all, you know your pet the best!
Can my pet wear their Louie Lavelle every day?
Absolutely! Our jewelry is made of high-quality material and is meant to last for a lifetime! Show it off on any occasion...play date, day trip, high tea, brunch, or even just at home. Our necklaces are durable and comfortable to wear.
Can I use a leash on my pet's necklace like a collar?
Although The Woof and The Meow designs have passed our 25-lb. and 8-lb. pull tests respectively during our product development, we do not recommend using our necklaces as collars. Damages caused by a leash or other hardware will void your product warranty eligibility.
How do I care for the charms?
Each of the Louie Lavelle charms is connected with a premium quality 18k gold plated stainless steel clasp. They are rust and tarnish resistant. To maintain the appearance of the charms, simply wipe it with a clean dry cloth and keep them in their jewelry bags. For fabric charms, you can clean it by removing any lint on its surface with a lint roller.
How can I make returns or exchanges?
We offer 30-day return and exchange. Contact us at ClientCare@louielavelle.com and we will help with your order.
What to do if my pet damages the necklace?
Our The Woof collection design has surpassed a 25-lb. pull test. But things happen! Most of our customers can restore the product at home with a pair of pliers.
Our The Meow collection is designed to disengage at 8 lb. pull force to prevent accidental strangling. All of our The Meow comes with a The Meow Reconnection Kit. Most of our clients can reconnect the necklace at home.
If you are not able to restore the product to a usable condition, please contact us at ClientCare@louielavelle.com. We are happy to do that for you.
What to do if a charm falls apart?
All of our charms are connected to a premium stainless steel clasp utilizing a double linkage technique, which makes our charms secure enough to support daily wear. They are also designed to sustain a 9-lb. pull force. If your charm connection is damaged and if you are interested in reconnecting it at home, you can purchase our Charm Reconnection Kit.
Does LOUIE LAVELLE offer gift wrapping?
Gift wrapping will be available soon. Our standard packing includes a velvet-lined air-tight jewelry bag, non-woven wrap and a sturdy white cardboard box. Most of our clients are very pleased with the standard packaging.
